Pack 200 Volunteer Leadership Position Descriptions

 

The following is a list of the positions required to coordinate the efforts of our Pack.  If you are interested in volunteering to help in any of these areas, please contact a Committee Member.  We welcome any and all involvement and assistance from our parents as we strive to provide a quality, scouting program.

 

Chartered Organization Representative

Assist in leadership recruitment. Cultivate organizational leaders.  Serve as liaison and representative between pack and council and district. Assist in re-chartering. Identify and promote the use of council and district resources.

 

Pack Committee Chairperson

Maintain close relationship with Charter Organization.  Facilitate monthly committee meetings.  Assign committee members. Approve bills for payment by treasurer. Organize & form dens as needed. Along with the pack leadership group plan for the program year and re-charter of Pack.  Report the progress and status of the Pack to the Charter Organization.    

Pack Committee Member

Participate in Pack planning and activities. Assist in Pack charter renewal. Provide guidance and oversight to Pack leadership.  Help to stimulate the interest of parents through proper programming and parental involvement.  Help to recruit volunteers for leadership positions and individual project assignment and coordination.

 

Treasurer

Establish Pack budget. Maintain Pack bank account. Arrange signature authority. Collect dues.  Pay bills.  Keep up-to-date financial records. Report periodically on Pack's financial condition and warn of impending problems.

Cub Master

Conduct Pack program. Develop, design and produce the monthly Pack Meeting Program/Newsletter. Work with Pack committee to recruit adult leaders. Help organize dens and encourage graduation into Boy Scouts. Establish and maintain good relations with Boy Scout and Charter Organization leadership. Conduct induction and advancement ceremonies. Assist Pack committee in annual planning. Provide coaching to other adult leaders. Promote training of adult leaders.  Help to cultivate the interest of parents and builds the ideals of Cub Scouting in the boys’ lives.

Assistant Cub Master

Assist the Cubmaster in their job. Be prepared to assume the job of Cubmaster in an emergency.  Work with Pack committee on recruiting and re-registration. Assist in Pack meetings, events, and planning. Promote Youth Protection.

 

Den Leader

Organize den program for year. Establish program of regular recognition. Track achievements and report to Awards Chair.  Encourage participation of den parents. Assist and coach den parents and other adult leaders. Lead den in participation in pack meetings.

 

Assistant Den Leader

Assist Den Leader.  Assist in Den record keeping.  Fill in for Den Leader as needed.  Take part in leadership and annual pack planning. Encourage participation of den parents.

Tiger Cub Den Leader

Organize the Tiger Cub den. Represent Tiger Cub issues at committee meetings. Coach Tiger Cub adult partners. Ensure participation of Tiger Cubs in Pack meetings and recognition activities.

 

Advancement and Awards Chairperson

Understand Cub Scout and Webelos advancement plans. Help conduct induction and advancement ceremonies. Maintain Packmaster system files and records.  Promote den activities and record keeping to encourage advancement. Order badges and insignia from local council service center using Advancement Report.

 

Activities and Outings Chairperson

Assist Cub Master in planning outings and pack activities. Arrange for permits and transportation as required. Identify new resources and opportunities for outings and activities. Promote day camp and resident camp.  Coordinate the annual Pack outings to local sporting events.

 

Popcorn Chairperson

Organize the annual fund raising event. Communicate program to leaders, parents, and Cub Scouts. Establish prizes and deadlines.  Distribute forms. Order and distribute popcorn. Report results to Pack.

 

Publicity Chairperson

Encourage participation in Pack events. Identify and promote community service projects. Publicize and promote pack activities inside and outside of pack. Promote Cub Scout roundup and other recruiting activities. Promote and communicate district council activities to pack. Organize and maintain the Pack Scrapbook of activities and events. Organize and maintain the Pack Banner including patches of activities and events attended.

 

Blue and Gold Chairperson

Select the theme. Organize the program. Assign food responsibilities to each Den.  Set-up room.  Distribute utensils. Allocate seating.

Pinewood Derby Chairperson

Organize the program. Recruit and organize judges and assistants. Communicate rules.  Set up track and room.  Have awards to give to each boy that participates.

 

Camping Coordinator

Plan, organize and direct the camping events that the Pack participates in, to include Winter Camp, Family Camping, Webelos Weekend, Parent & Pal Weekends and Summer Camping Day & Resident camping programs.

 

Scouting for Food Coordinator

Plan, organize and direct the Scouting for Food annual event to help the local Food Banks.
